Hello There!
My name is Sophie Hutchon, I am a Scottish artist currently living in Edinburgh.
I specialise in concept art and visualisation for animation and film, I am especially passionate about character design but I also love to turn my hand to environment design and storyboarding.
My Story
When I was little the first movie I ever remember watching was Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, not knowing it at the time this movie would kick start a beautiful passion in me for animated movies. Movies and stories have always been a precious part of my life, and I am passionate about bringing stories to life through my art.
I knew in Highschool I wanted to peruse a career in animation so I left after gaining my Highers to begin my long journey. I started my secondary education in Borders College studying Digital Media, then later to Edinburgh College to study UAL Art and Design. It was during my time in Art and Design that I found my love of art and drawing could be harnessed into a career in concept art and visual development and learned about the concept artist career path. Deciding to follow this route I stayed at Edinburgh College to complete my HND in Computer Arts and Design and completed my Degree in Digital Media and Interaction Design at Edinburgh Napier.
I have found through my different educational experiences that I have so many interests in the digital art space and find it really exciting to try new projects, through college and University I have completed projects in 2D and 3D Animation, VFX, Motion Graphics, Visual Development, VR Development, Interactive Media Creation and more. Because of these projects I have a good idea of what different types projects call for visually. I am a friendly person and have enjoyed working with and leading teams at University.
